President Obama vowed to close the operation during the 2008 presidential campaign, but the facility remains in operation. A panel of experts including former advisers in Bush and Obama’s administrations have discussed the American prison camp at Guantanamo, Cuba and address the questions of should and will the facility be shuttered.
In the wake of the Paris attacks, the panel has taken a step back to come up with some analysis and suggestions.
